After weeks of teases and leaks, Microsoft confirmed its first-ever Developer Direct showcase, in which an announcement via Xbox Wire confirmed the details. We also know when this showcase will broadcast, with a date scheduled for 25th January 2023, streaming via their Twitch and YouTube channels.
As the livestream will support multiple languages and streams supporting audio descriptions and American Sign Language, its German Xbox Wire team accidentally revealed more information than intended. A translation of their Developer Direct announcement revealed more details for upcoming Xbox exclusive releases, Redfall, and Forza Motorsport, which are slated for launch later this year.
The Xbox and Besthesda Developer Direct will be placing a spotlight on select releases from Xbox Game Studios, which raised eyebrows due to the omission of Starfield. However, it was later added that the game would receive a separate Developer Direct showcase at a date to be announced.
While the focus will be on future releases coming to Xbox consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, including The Elder Scrolls Online, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, and Redfall, it was accidentally revealed that their release dates were to be announced during the livestream. According to a translation of the announcement post courtesy of Video Games Chronicle, the translated text reads as follows:
“Developer_Direct will focus on amazing features, extensive gameplay showcases, and first-time shared release dates for great Xbox titles coming out over the next few months – including The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall.”
The original English post does not mention possible release dates for the above-mentioned games; the German announcement post that hasn’t corrected the changes might allude that this may happen. But it’s worth taking the news with a grain of salt and, instead, tune into the first Xbox and Bethesda Developer DIrect later this month for the full update and more announcements.
