Traditionally, collectables in any Ratchet & Clank title serve two purposes. The first is providing players with some additional side content and adding to the trophy list. The second is much more enticing, however, as usually, the developers will make the collectables a prerequisite for unlocking gear or other rewards.
As with the Gold Bolts, the Spybots are one such collectable that players need to spend time finding in order to unlock something else. While the Gold Bolts unlock cosmetics and even cheats, the Spybots unlock the game’s best weapon, the RYNO. We went over the RYNO in a previous article and trust us, it’s worth the trouble of finding Spybots.
Of course, the first question players will have is where they can find all of the Spybots. Luckily, we know the location of each and every one.
How to find Spybots in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
In total, there are 10 Spybots located across the galaxy in Rift Apart. They’re spread out across nine planets and all of them can’t be collected until the very end of the game. This means that players won’t get to use the RYNO for long in that specific playthrough but they can use it if they start a New Game+.

Below, you can see the location of every Spybot in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Corson V Spybot location
There’s only one Spybot on this planet. It’s located through the side objective “Search the Factory.” Getting to the Spybot involves a ton of jumping from walls and onto different objects. It’s a forced requirement to leave the Factory, so you should find it before leaving.
Sargasso Spybot location
Unlike most other Spybots, this one can’t be found on your first time on this planet. Instead, you need to wait until you finish up the third planet, Scarstu Debris Field, and head back to Sargasso.
A new quest will be waiting for you called “Help Trudi.” Essentially, you’re forced to go on multiple fetch quests for Trudi and if you finish all of them, you’ll receive a Spybot as a reward.
Scarstu Debris Field Spybot locations
Again, players can’t get the Spybot on their first trip to this planet. You get the Spybot as a reward for completing the 4th Gold Battleplex Challenge, which doesn’t unlock until you beat the story on every other planet.
The second Spybot on this planet also needs to be after your first trip. You need to unlock the Hurlshot from Torren IV and then return to this planet. You can then use the Hurlshot to shoot yourself over to a floating platform on the north side of the planet near Zurkie’s Bar.
Savali Spybot location:
This Spybot is located on the northeast side of the planet in a cave that houses a pirate ship.
Blizar Prime Spybot location
The Spybot here is a reward for competing Chef Tulio’s side quest “Find the Missing Chef.”
Torren IV Spybot location:
Located directly before the Ms. Zurkon weapon vendor on a magnetic path at the start of the planet.
Cordelion Spybot location:
The Cordelion Spybot is found on the main quest path above the forge’s entrance. You can pull yourself up above the forge using the yellow rift.
Ardolis Spybot location:
Once you’re done with all of the main story objectives on this planet, return to your spaceship. Here, you’ll see a new purple teleporter that brings you back to Ms. Zurkon. After you’re there, go directly right of the weapon vendor and make your way to the floating pirate ship.
On the left side of this ship, there are two rope swings. Take the swings and find a sandy island to your right. Use the hoverbots to get to the island and find the Spybot at the end of it.
Viceron Spybot location:
The final Spybot is found after destroying a ventilation shaft in the corridors of the planet. It’s located near the end of the corridors.
