Sony has announced a PlayStation 5 presentation for 4th June to show a look “at the future of gaming” on the platform.
While it’s been heavily rumoured a reveal event would take place next week, Sony has now officially announced a PS5 event for Thursday 4th June at 9pm BST/1pm PDT.
It doesn’t sound like however this will showcase the console itself, with a blog post detailing how it’ll run for “a bit more than an hour” which will give you “a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday”.
They did however state this will be part of a series of PS5 updates to come, so they could be, oddly, saving the console reveal for a later date.

So far, Sony has revealed the specifications and new DualSense controller for the PS5, without actually showing the console itself.
In comparison to rival Microsoft, they've been relatively slow out of the gate - who revealed their Xbox Series X back in December and recently had a games showcase to highlight third-party titles.
The PS5 game showcase takes places on Thursday 4th June at 1pm PDT/9pm BST.
