Japanese publisher Nintendo joins other notable developers and publishers in providing relief funding following the catastrophic earthquake that impacted the Noto Peninsula. As the Japanese Red Cross had already actively responded to the catastrophic disaster that hit Japan's west coast, notable developers and publishers have announced donations being made to the Japanese Red Cross. Thus far, Capcom, The Pokémon Company, and Square Enix have already made monetary donations to assist in the earthquake relief fund, which Nintendo has now joined, which was announced on social media.
In a translated post on their official Nintendo Japan account on Twitter, the publisher issued their "deepest sympathies" to all persons impacted by the devastating earthquake in the region. According to an official press release, the publisher announced they would donate 50 million Yen, around $340,000, to assist the Japanese Red Cross in their ongoing relief efforts.
Additionally, Nintendo has offered free repairs on all Nintendo products that were damaged as a result of the earthquake, to which the Disaster Relief Act has been applied.
