Fans of the skateboarding franchise, aptly entitled Skate, have been begging Electronic Arts to create a new Skate game for years. The last mainline entry in the franchise, Skate 3, released 10 years ago. At EA Play 2020, the publisher finally announced a new Skate game.
The new Skate game
At the end of the EA Play live event, the publisher dropped the age-old "one more thing" line, before revealing they are in fact working on a new Skate game.
The short but sweet message from Skate series veterans, game director Deran Chung and creative director Chris Parry, instantly lit up the lives of Skate fans.

Chris Parry announced: “We’re back, we’re doing it! Skate’s happening; we’re rolling. We secretly got together. It’s the beginning; the Skate evolution continues.”
Deran Chung continued by stating: “We’ve been waiting years, honestly, to make the right game, at the right time, with the right idea, and - really, really pleased to say that we’re here."
At the time of writing, no other information about the new Skate game is available. EA didn't even share one screenshot or a teaser video.
Like other titles revealed at EA Play, we can expect the new Skate game to probably release on next-gen consoles.
