Publisher THQ Nordic held a Digital Showcase, which spotlighted a handful of games set for release in the near future. These include Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, which launches on 24th September 2024; Way of the Hunter's Lintukoto Reserve DLC, which is available now; and future releases The Eternal Life of Goldman, Titan Quest II, Wreckfest 2, and the Gothic 1 Remake.

Towards the end of the presentation, the publisher revealed an official teaser trailer, officially announcing a new entry in the Darksiders series with no further information provided. This was confirmed in the publisher's post for PlayStation Blog and Xbox Wire last weekend; however, very little information was provided on the forthcoming game.

The hack-and-slash action-adventure series Darksiders is gaining a new entry courtesy of a new teaser trailer, which debuted at their Digital Showcase on 2nd August 2024. Accompanied by a text that reads, "Be prepared to ride again...," the publisher has yet to confirm whether the latest entry will be a new game remaster, remake, sequel, or spin-off game.

Currently, the Darksiders series has three main installments and a spin-off game, Darksiders Genesis, the last released game back in 2019, which followed one of the horsemen, Strife, who was implored to help save humanity from Lucifer. Based on what THQ Nordic provided in the aforementioned blog posts, it's confirmed that "the Four Horsemen will ride again."

The foreboding rumble of caverns eons old. Embers swirl through the air, cast up from pools of bubbling lava. Three enormous heads, hewn from otherworldly stone, suddenly burst into life with mystical flame. The Charred Council roar a single word in unison: HORSEMAN.

The game is confirmed to be developed by Gunfire Games, who previously worked on Darksiders 3; it's unclear what the development status of the forthcoming Darksiders game is. Furthermore, we don't know when we'll hear more about the untitled Darksiders game, for which we'll continue to follow the latest development news and provide updates once new information comes to light.
