Another day, another new leaker. A leaker on Twitter has appeared claiming that the Nintendo Direct that takes place later today will show off a brand new 2D Mario game.
Over on Twitter, a user going by the name Pyoro_ND has simply tweeted
'2D Mario Stuff.'
This is in direct response to somebody who is tweeting about the Nintendo Direct, indicating that we could be seeing something from the Mario franchise today. This follows from Shigeru Miyamoto stating while he was doing interviews for the Mario movie that we should 'watch upcoming Nintendo Directs' if we wanted to see a new Mario title. The same leaker has also stated that it won't be part of the 'New Super Mario Bros' subseries of games.
We'll admit, this is less of a moment where you need to take a grain of salt and more one where you should take an entire pot of salt. Leakers can be hit or miss at the best of times, but with a new leaker, it's a complete unknown whether or not they're legit until the actual show starts. We'll know in just under an hour for sure whether this is a legit leak or not.
The Nintendo Direct starts in under an hour, with it promising "roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on Nintendo Switch titles launching this year, including new details on Pikmin 4." You can watch it below:
