It’s been nearly a year since Dr. Disrespect announced he would lead his own “AAA” game studio, Midnight Society, to develop a high-end battle royale, initially titled Project Moon. Finally, the time has arrived, as Midnight Society has revealed official gameplay footage and a snapshot of Project Moon, now called DEADROP.
On 29th July 2022, Midnight Society held an in-person live event in Los Angeles to showcase DEADROP and its gameplay. After publicly revealing the game's hefty PC system requirements, Midnight Society's unveiling of DEADROP seems to make the uproaring spec necessities understandable after witnessing official gameplay.
Midnight Society Reveals DEADROP Gameplay
Midnight Society’s newest game DEADROP is the first-ever vertical extraction shooter anywhere, with a post-apocalyptic-esque environment set in the year 2020, forty years after the “Climate Wars.” DEADROP’s snapshot and gameplay demo featured a smaller scope into the game’s entirety but focused on the fundamentals.

Founder’s Pass holders got to play the game as soon as it dropped, either live via Midnight Society’s in-person live event or at home by downloading the game online. DEADROP’s demo featured a taste of the game’s weapon system, including how the guns looked, felt, and everything in-between.
It also featured a look into DEADROP’s scenic environment, which looked pretty run down, polluted, and wet considering it rained for most of the demo.
