Riot Games fans have had plenty to enjoy across their different titles as the company is celebrating the release of its Netflix animated series, Arcane, with content distributed to League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.
Legends of Runeterra fans have extra reasons to be happy, as a new PvE story-driven permanent game mode will debut amidst the Arcane celebrations -- The Path of Champions.
We have plenty of information about Path of Champions, with more coming in the following days ahead of release, so let's take a look at everything you need to know.
LoR Path of Champions - Release date
The Path of Champions PvE mode is scheduled for release this upcoming 10th November as part of the v2.19 patch.
LoR Path of Champions - How to play
Little is known about the gameplay, but Riot did confirm that Path of Champions was built like a campaign, with a lot of storytelling driving the mode forward, with plenty of voice acting and even a Runeterra map to make progression less linear.
Similar to Lab of Legends, players can receive "upgrades" in the form of cards to improve their decks as well as passive abilities to enhance their Champions of choosing.
Of course, by the looks of things in the teaser trailer, the entire system has been expanded and fleshed out with multiple new functions, including player choices similar to a Telltale game, with your decisions giving you different passive abilities as a result.
In one quick example, players can either choose to imprison or ransom Caitlyn. The first option will grant them the ability to stun the opponent's strongest card at the beginning of a round. The latter will let you start a match with an extra mana gem.
The list of confirmed Champions includes the following characters:
- Jinx
- Lulu
- Gangplank
- Ezreal
- Zed
- Nautilus
- Viktor
