Leap is a brand-new first-person shooter (FPS) from independent Canadian game developer Blue Isle Studios, best known for games like Slender: The Arrival, Valley, and Citadel: Forged with Fire. Described as a "passion project," Leap took three years to develop and boasts a truly epic gaming experience.
The game, which somewhat resembles a cross between Halo and Apex Legends, will launch for PC in June 2022 and is expected to be a massive hit among FPS enthusiasts. Here's everything you need to know about Leap, including when it releases, gameplay platforms, gameplay, features, PC system specifications, and more.
Leap - Release date and Early Access
Leap will release on Steam Early Access on 1st June 2022. According to the developers, the game will remain in Early Access for 12 months, during which time they plan to focus on bugs, stability, performance, and gameplay balance fixes.
Blue Isle Studios haven't revealed Leaps' Early Access roadmap but emphasized that they have "tons of additional content planned and in the works," which they look forward to sharing very soon.
Leap - Gameplay Platforms
The release copy of Leap will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows PC gameplay platforms. The game is not currently listed on the PlayStation Store; however, it is available via the Steam Store.

At the time of writing, the developers have not disclosed Leap's retail or Early Access price. However, early adopters will benefit from a discounted price to reflect that the game is incomplete and may have bugs, performance, or stability issues.
Leap - Gameplay and Features
The developer describes Leap as a "fast-paced, multiplayer first-person shooter." The game will see up to 60 players, part of either the United Earth Defense Coalition (UEDC) or the rebel Exo-Terrans factions, bud heads in an epic brawl, each "armed to the teeth."
Players will have to work together as they traverse one of the game's six expansive maps, using grappling hooks, jetpacks, hoverboards, or mechanical moose to lead their charge and close the gap on their enemies.
"Each environment is designed to work with multiple game modes and player counts. For example, each environment has different layouts depending on the game mode, with small, medium, and large variants for each," the developers said.
In addition, each player will be equipped with one of four powerful exosuits (classes), bearing "powerful weapons and super-hero inspired, game-changing abilities." Each class will encourage unique playstyles and offers a large suite of weapons and abilities players can unlock through the class leveling system.
- Pathfinder - Storm into battle, guns blazing! The Pathfinder is a great all-rounder, effective at handling most combat situations.
- Titan - Use your jetpack and take to the skies, raining fire on those down below. The Titan is heavily armored and equipped with serious firepower.
- Wraith - Stealth and agility are two traits that best define the Wraith. Hidden within the shadows, Wraiths come equipped with long-range weaponry and can vanish into thin air.
- Tech Ops - The power to heal and defend. Tech Ops are effective at support with their teammate repair abilities and can drop automated turrets to defend a position.
Leap will also allow players to customize their mercenary with helmet emojis and distinct skin options for exosuits, vehicles, and weapons. "Flaunt and taunt your frenemies with style and sass."
To put the cherry on top, Blue Isle Studios highlighted that Leap fully supports modding, giving players to power to enhance Leap's gameplay experience. "Our modding support is functional and already working; we'll spend some time shortly after our Early Access launch to wrap it all up and officially launch our full mod support," the developers said.
