In June, we finally got to play The Last of Us Part II, and in July 2020, the video game releases for the month is once again hed by a PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima.
While July isn't the biggest month ever for video game releases, gamers won't have a shortage of titles to play either. Before we get to the full list of video game releases, you can take a look at our top five picks.
1. Ghost of Tsushima
Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima is the last big PS4 exclusive before the PS5 gets released, and it isn't pulling any punches. From everything we've seen so far, there is no doubt Ghost of Tsushima will be one of, if not the top video game release this July.
The game boasts a large open world set in late 13th-century Feudal Japan. Players will step into the boots of samurai Jin Sakai, who must sacrifice everything to defeat the ruthless Mongol invaders and protect what’s left of his home and people.
Ghost of Tsushima releases on 17th July, and we can't wait to jump into the boots of Jin Sakai.
2. Grounded
From famous developer Obsidian Entertainment, and published by Xbox Game Studios, comes Grounded. The game releases on 28th July 2020 for PC and Xbox One, and it holds a lot of promise.
Grounded is an action-adventure survival game, which tasks the miniature players to survive the perils of the backyard, fighting off giant insects, building bases, crafting tools and much more. When Grounded releases late in July, players will be able to either play it solo or with up to three friends.
3. Marvel's Iron Man VR
If you've ever wanted to know how it feels to be Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, then Marvel's Iron Man VR is probably the most-anticipated video game release of July 2020.
Marvel's Iron Man VR flies exclusively onto PSVR on 3 July 2020. The game looks like yet another fully-fledged VR experience, with an interesting story to boot. The best part about Marvel's Iron Man VR, however, is how players will be able to experience what it is like to put on an Iron Man suit and fly through the skies, fighting crime along the way.
4. Death Stranding on PC
On 14th July 2020, PC gamers will finally be able to play Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima's PS4 masterpiece. It will be the first time we see the Decima engine (which powers Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding) running on PC, with even more enhancements for PC gamers to enjoy.
Death Stranding is one of those games you will either love or hate. Some call it a delivery man simulator, while others can see the brilliance in what Kojima Productions have achieved. This is arguably the most unique AAA title to release for current-gen consoles, and on 14th July, PC gamers will find out exactly why the game has been praised by PS4 gamers.
5. Paper Mario: The Origami King
On 17th July 2020, Paper Mario: The Origami King releases for Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy. This upcoming RPG is developed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo.
Players will face off against the Origami menace as a 2D Mario, joined by his new partner called Olivia. Mario will also team up with unlikely allies such as the Toads, and Bowser himself, in a fight against the Folded Soldiers.
This is the sixth game in the Paper Mario franchise, and from the gameplay shown so far, it might just be the best one yet.
