Indie game Laysara: Summit Kingdom is all about building cities in mountains

2022 will see a host of strategy and simulation gaming releases that will cater to those seeking to challenge their planning prowess. One of these releases is a city-building strategy game from Quite OK Games, Laysara: Summit Kingdom.

A single-player offering that will take players to the mountain ranges of the Kingdom of Laysaria to construct homes, adapt to unique challenges and build relationships. Here’s everything we know about this colossal city-building strategy game including its release date, gameplay features, PC system requirements and more.

What is Laysara: Summit Kingdom?

Laysara: Summit Kingdom is a city-building strategy game that tasks players to construct new homes for its exiled citizens from lands below. Through the game’s campaign and sandbox modes, you can develop cities upon these mountains as each possesses its unique charm.

Even so, these cities will need to work together to produce a fruitful relationship built on trust and communication if these cities are to ensure their survival. The kingdom is depending on their success in order for it to be rebuilt once more.

When does Laysara: Summit Kingdom release?

According to an announcement from Quite OK Games, they have yet to set an exact release date for Laysara: Summit Kingdom. As such, it will release sometime in 2022 on PC. No confirmation if the game will be launching for consoles.

What are the gameplay features for Laysara: Summit Kingdom?

As this is a strategy city-builder, Laysara: Summit Kingdom possesses unique features that make this game distinctively different from other games in its genre. One of these unique features is that you are required to construct cities along mountainsides.

This in its self creates unique sets of challenges from weather, vegetation areas, mountain sizes and plenty more for you to manage. Additionally, each mountain has its own set of resources available for you to mine, harvest and produce so no two cities are the same.

However, if you’re on the verge of depleting these natural resources, you can negotiate with the neighbouring city to create a trade route to sustain your city.

Speaking of weather changes, another unique feature you will need to adapt to is the frequency of natural disasters such as avalanches. As you may not be successful in stopping or avoiding them, however, develop structures and devise plans that will prevent them from wiping out your city or destroying all vegetation.

Once you have established relationships with cities nearby, devise and create trading routes that will ensure delivery times of resources to your city or the neighbouring city. These routes can take the form of roads, bridges, pulleys and shafts. Build and fortify these routes to keep your city thriving.

What are the PC system requirements?

As of writing, the recommended system requirements to run Laysara: Summit Kingdom has yet to be revealed. But that shouldn’t stop you from building your city amidst the clouds.
