The PlayStation exclusive Horizon Forbidden West, created by Guerrilla Games, launched on 18th February 2022 and the game is currently reviewing extremely well. As players venture into the vast open-world as Aloy, exploring and levelling up, picking new skills to demolish their enemies with and more, one can't help but wonder if Horizon Forbidden West has a New Game Plus (NG+) mode.
In many titles, a New Game Plus mode allows players to keep their progression and most items, then start the game anew facing a tougher experience. Does Horizon Forbidden West allow you to do this with a NG+ mode? We've got the answer.
Does Horizon Forbidden West have NG+ mode?
The short answer is no. At launch, Horizon Forbidden West does not have a New Game Plus mode.
If you only played Horizon Zero Dawn sometime after launch, you might be wondering why Forbidden West doesn't have a New Game Plus mode while Zero Dawn did.
Well, it is important to note that Horizon Zero Dawn only received a New Game Plus mode via a post-launch update. Therefore, we have reason to believe that Guerrilla Games will take the same route with Horizon Forbidden West.
At the time of writing, there is no word on a possible release date for an update that could usher in a NG+ mode in Forbidden West. The game, however, is massive and should take players quite some time to complete.
There's also a lot of side content to explore, and various difficulties to choose from. In the absence of a New Game Plus mode, players might still want to complete the game more than once, going through the content they've missed on the first run.
So there you have it, Horizon Forbidden West does not have a New Game Plus mode at launch. If the original title is anything to go by, however, Guerrilla Games could add this mode via an update. At the time of writing, however, this has not been officially confirmed by the devs.
