Hollowbody by Headware Games just got a 12 September release date, available on PC via Steam and GOG. The game’s developer accompanied the exciting announcement with an all-new release date trailer, showing off the game's environments, characters, and puzzles. You can check it out just below:

Hollowbody is a “dystopian love letter to survival horror,” featuring highly detailed environments with tech-noir elements woven in throughout. In this homage to genre classics like Silent Hill, Haunting Ground, and Rule of Rose, players take on the role of Mica, a black market shipper looking for her partner. After her hover crashes, she’s stuck alone trying to find a way to not only escape - but make it out with her partner, whatever it takes.

The story is brought to life with full voice acting, deep world building, and unsettling scenery. The gameplay is reminiscent of the early 2000s titles that defined the survival horror genre, incorporating logic puzzles, resource management, and some combat.

Hollowbody is entirely developed by one person: developer Nathan Hamley of Headware Games, who also released the critically-acclaimed Chasing Static all on his own back in 2021.

“To ensure consistency throughout the game (and also because I’m a bit of a control freak) I will again be taking on all aspects of the game’s development,” Hamley explained. “I create all the art, write the story, code the game and this time I will also be creating the game’s soundtrack myself.”

Headware Games’ newest survival horror title comes at a time that many would call a revival for the genre. That survival horror revival has been marked by the success of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, and other successful modern titles like Crow Country. Fans can wishlist Hollowbody on Steam now.
