Headware Games announced today that a free content update, called 'Restoration,' is now available for tech-noir survival horror Hollowbody on Steam and GOG. The new update features new optional puzzles, locations, and lore, addressing player feedback "relating to the game's pacing and narrative beats."
"Whilst I am very happy with how Hollowbody released and the fantastic reception it's received from players, there were some narrative threads missing from the game that contextualize Echo's place in the grand scheme of Hollowbody's story," Headware Games wrote. "This update looks to remedy that."
Accordingly, the new content update explores Echo's place in the world of Hollowbody, and gives context about the city's restoration efforts and downfall. Along with all this new content, the solo developer has also implemented numerous quality of life fixes and camera changes.
Headware Games offered a little hint for those trying out the new content: "Keep an eye out for new inventory items or changes in the environment."
Players who already own the game should automatically get the new update.
If you've been thinking about picking up Hollowbody, now's a great time. Not only does the game have more content than ever with the new update just in time for Halloween, but the title is available at a 10% discount on Steam until 4 November to celebrate Steam Scream Fest 2024.
Headware Games' Hollowbody is inspired by early 2000's titles, featuring fixed camera angles, puzzles, exploration in a dystopian future, and full voice acting. Hollowbody has received Very Positive reviews on Steam since its release back in September. Some have called it a "short but very enjoyable survival horror experience."
