Stardew Valley Meets Animal Crossing in Cozy New Life Sim Floatopia

Ever wanted to start a new life in a paradise in the clouds? Well, you can! With a charming Gamescom debut, Floatopia invites you to the Floating Islands for a new cozy life-sim adventure coming in 2025 on PS5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Filled with farming, fishing, logging, and more, the vacation vibes of Floatopia feature everything you’d expect from a so-called ‘cozy game’ and more, taking notes from Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. You will be able to sail your floating island to other realms to discover and explore new locations. This is backed up by an incredibly cute art style that will be a hit with fans of the genre. 

Best of all though, you’re able to decorate your dream home until your heart’s content. You have the freedom to customize your island with a wide range of tools and items, including transforming the terrain. This will let you create an island paradise unique to you, backed up by various character customization options as well.

Not only that though, you’ll also have access to superpowers. While some in the world of Floatopia have powerful superpowers, you’re stuck with seemingly ‘useless’ ones that others don’t want. Teaming up with other overlooked heroes, you’ll learn that even the most mundane of powers is packed with potential. In fact, the developer has revealed that you will be able to harvest crops, change the weather, and more using your powers, which are undeniably handy to have in a life sim.

Though no firm release date was revealed outside of a wide 2025 window, you can already pre-register for Floatopia on its official website. This will not only keep you up to date with the latest news, but also go towards pre-registration milestones. For instance, all players will receive a toy seesaw furniture item upon reaching two million pre-registrations and, most importantly, ten Gacha Tickets at 20 million registrations.
