EA has today officially announced that they are currently early in development on a Black Panther title, along with revealing the studio working on the game.
Cliffhanger Games will be the developer of the title and is based in Seattle. This makes it the second Marvel title to be developed by a studio under EA's banner, along with the previously announced Iron Man title. EA elaborated on the decision to make a Black Panther game, stating:
"We're dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich SuperHero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.
We're still early in development with a long road ahead, but we know the foundation to any great story is to build an experienced team with diverse voices and perspectives and that's what we want to build, especially with a superhero as important as Black Panther."
This is actually the second video game to feature Black Panther currently in development, as Amy Hennig's new studio is in the process of making an untitled Captain America/Black Panther game that was announced last year.
