Developer Techland came ready with a calculating new look at the antagonist for the forthcoming release, Dying Light: The Beast. The action RPG, a standalone spin-off set in the Dying Light universe, premiered the character reveal trailer for Marius Fischer, the Baron, the antagonist that returning OG protagonist Kyle Crane must face to exact his revenge.
The latest trailer provided players with not only insight into the persona and psyche of the Baron and what happened to Kyle Crane following the events of the Dying Light DLC, The Following, but also confirmation as to when Dying Light: The Beast is expected to drop. The trailer revealed that the action RPG is slated for a Summer 2025 release, with Wishlist functionality now available for consoles and PCs.
Dying Light: The Beast chronicles a vengeful journey that Kyle Crane embarks on after spending 13 years being experimented on by Marius Fischer, the Baron. Fischer has been dedicating his time to "experimenting with sinister virus strains, pursuing his grand design that still remains a mystery to everyone."
With Crane escaping the Baron’s Laboratory to "hunt down" his "captors to seek retribution," Crane realizes plenty is at stake at Castor Woods. However, this may be challenging for Crane as "giving in to this animalistic instinct could be a slippery slope as he now possesses extraordinary, beastlike powers" that could be more harmful to unleash if not careful.
With Wishlisting already available for Dying Light: The Beast, Techland has yet to officially confirm a release date for the action RPG hitting consoles and PCs next Summer 2025. Players currently owning Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition will automatically get Dying Light: The Beast "at no additional charge" upon its release.
