When Will Death Stranding Release On Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox officially confirmed that Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding would be available for Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers after days of teasing. The announcement will likely maximize the game's PC presence by extending its longevity via the Xbox gaming subscription; players won't be seeing the game anytime soon on Xbox consoles.

Xbox Announce Death Stranding Game Pass Date

Kojima Productions and Italian publisher 505 Games have teamed up to bring the action-adventure game Death Stranding to the Xbox platform but with a catch. This was announced by the Director of Global Community for 505 Games, Antonela Pounder, via Xbox Wire on 19th August 2022.

The announcement confirms that Death Stranding is making its way to Xbox Game Pass for PC on 23rd August 2022 and will include several notable features for its Windows port. These features include Ultrawide Mode, Photo Mode, higher framerates, and crossplay content from other prominent games, including Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077.

Additionally, there are some launch-day exclusive items players can acquire when they progress through the game's story on Xbox Game Pass for PC. Players can look forward to unlocking the following items in-game:

• Chiral Gold / Omnireflector "Ludens Mask" Sunglasses (a color variant)
• Gold and Silver Power Skeleton
• Gold and Silver All-Terrain Skeleton
• Gold and Silver Armor Plate

Death Stranding first launched for PlayStation consoles in 2019 before it launched for PC in 2020. As it's likely that it's still platform-locked for PlayStation, the action-adventure game won't be playable on Xbox consoles.

Nevertheless, players who have yet to step into the "genre-defying open world" of Death Stranding can experience it via Xbox Game Pass for PC. Lastly, prominent gaming website, TrueAchievements revealed the new Achievement List for the game's Xbox Game Pass for PC release.

According to a tweet posted on 19th August 2022, Death Stranding's Achievement List features 63 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore. For completionists and trophy hunters, the Achievement List also includes several achievements to obtain, for which we'll provide the complete Achievement List soon.
