Death Stranding and Control lead The Game Awards 2019 nominations

Taking place at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles on 12 December, The Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley have become one of the biggest events in gaming – combining awards with new announcements.  

Last year’s winners were largely dominated by God Of War and Red Dead Redemption II, while they also featured esports awards for the biggest game, best team, and best player across a number of titles.  

So who are the 2019 nominees? Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding leads the charge with ten nominations, while Remedy’s Control is shortly behind with eight nods.  

Elsewhere, Nintendo entirely dominated the Best Family Game category, while League Of Legends titans Faker and Perkz will go head-to-head for Best Esports Player.
