After Bloober Team's successful Silent Hill 2 remake, the studio has just announced an entirely new survival horror IP of its own called Cronos: The New Dawn. Developers call the game a "twisted time travel story," with its setting a fictional but unforgiving post-apocalyptic future in 1980s Poland. Fans will play as a Traveler, a member of the Collective. Your goal as a Traveler is to retrieve certain people who died in the apocalypse.
Cronos: The New Dawn has a 2025 release date, meaning fans will get to experience this new story that "straddles the line between past and future" in less than a year, provided there are no delays.
"To complete the Collective’s mission, players will need to survive a deadly wasteland created by a cataclysmic event known as the Change," a press release explains, "filled with monstrous abominations that will challenge players’ combat abilities."
CEO Piotr Babieno discussed the new announcement further in the press release, noting that the studio's "commitment to redefining the horror genre continues with this survival horror title, which represents a natural progression of our creative vision and our studio’s strategy."
While Cronos: The New Dawn is Bloober Team's first survival horror game, it's far from the studio's first original IP. They're known for their original horror titles Layers of Fear and The Medium, released in 2016 and 2021 respectively.
