Upcoming sandbox adventure game Core Keeperwill be delayed until September 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch, developers announced. The game's release date on other consoles - including PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X/S, and PC - will be unaffected, and will still launch on 27 August.

Given the September 17 release date, fans will need to wait a little bit over 3 weeks longer than expected for digital editions of the game on those consoles - however, the delays aren't limited to online stores.

The physical version of Core Keeper will also be delayed until 17 September, meaning that it'll release alongside the Xbox One, PS4, and Switch editions.

“We’re so excited for everybody to jump into Core Keeper in the coming weeks and discover the magic of the game’s enchanting subterranean world,” said Sarah Hoeksma, Chief Marketing Officer at Fireshine Games.

“We want players to experience Core Keeper at its very best, and have had to make the tough decision to push the release date back for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions by a few weeks. While we know this will disappoint players looking forward to the game on those platforms, it’s important for us to take the extra time to ensure that Core Keeper is the best experience possible at launch, no matter where you play.”

The game promises an interesting and immersive sandbox experience where "your choices shape an epic journey," giving players the opportunity to build a base, craft tools, garden, fish, and explore the vast world.

Core Keeper is available now on Steam Early Access. The game has earned several awards even before its release and sold 2.5 million units in Early Access alone, according to VG Insights.
