Co-Op Action Brawler Game Towerborne Hits Steam Early Access

Developer Stoic announced that its co-op action brawler adventure, Towerborne, has officially launched in Early Access on 10th September 2024. The game, which is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC in 2025, is now available to experience through Steam's Early Access on PC.

According to the developer, their co-op action brawler adventure was "designed this game to be a free-to-play experience, built with Early Access in mind." This development decision to release the game in Early Access allowed Stoic Studio "to gather feedback from players and refine every aspect of the game."

Towerborne finds players "as an Ace, a warrior" reborn and sent to protect a "safe haven" known as the Belfry from "an evil force" that lurks beyond its walls. Within the game, players can battle across three locations, including the massive hex-based World Map, the bastion of hope in the Belfry, and through the multiple Levels to fight it out, each bringing unique features and experiences to enjoy.

As the game is now available in Early Access, players have the freedom of choice to play solo or cooperatively with players online or with their friends and can customize their experiences through the game's difficulty settings. Speaking of tailoring experiences, the game comes equipped with a Character Customization feature to create an Ace that best reflects their "personal style, both in combat and appearance" by mixing up abilities, equipment, gear pieces, and Umbra companions that meet their playstyle.

To access Towerborne in Early Access, players can buy the game's Silver or Gold Founder's Pack, which allows them to gain entry to the game and earn some unique cosmetic items and a monthly bonus reward. The developer has stated that Towerborne's Steam Early Access launch will help them gather feedback and polish the game before expanding it when it launches through Xbox Game Preview next year ahead of its global release.
