Bloodborne is perhaps one of the most beloved PlayStation exclusives of all time, but it's stuck in 30FPS, with only the PS4 version available. There's no PC version, and there's no native PS5 version, so the game can't take advantage of next-generation hardware.
Rumors have swirled for a while that we might see a remaster of the game, but will a Bloodborne Remaster be at the Summer Game Fest 2023? We didn't see an announcement about the Bloodborne Remaster at the PlayStation Showcase last month, so let's look forward to the future.
Is The Bloodborne Remaster Real?
At this stage, whether or not the Bloodborne Remaster is actually real is very much up in the air. Over the years, various different sources have stated that they've heard a remaster is coming, but nothing has surfaced so far. It's gotten to the stage where fans have taken matters into their own hands by making 60FPS mods for the PS4 version of the game, so hopefully Sony is hearing the demand for the remaster.
If a Bloodborne Remaster really is in the works, it's possible that we could finally hear an announcement from developers during the 2023 Summer Game Fest on 9th June. Developers might finally officially tell us that the game is coming, or perhaps even provide some concept art or other information if they've already started work on the game.
What Platforms Would A Bloodborne Remaster Launch On?
While PlayStation has committed to a system in which they never launch day and date on PC and PS5, it's possible that they forgo this commitment for Bloodborne Remastered simply due to the fact that it's a rerelease of an already existing game. Assuming the remaster is real (which, we'll be honest, is a pretty big assumption, but roll with us here), it's possible that Sony launches on PC at the same time simply because they know there's demand there.
Sony owns the trademark to Bloodborne, along with the general IP, so it's extremely unlikely that the game would come to Xbox, but with games like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves being released on PC to varying different degrees of success, we know that Sony doesn't have anything against releasing a game on PC.
While we don't know whether the Bloodborne Remaster is coming at all, if it is, it's possible we could hear more about it at the 2023 Summer Game Fest. For now, we'll just have to sit back and wait for more leaks and information from developers.
