ALIEN The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition will launch on Kickstarter on March 25, 2025. Developed by Free League Publishing in collaboration with 20th Century Studios, the updated edition offers a refreshed take on the beloved ALIEN RPG, with new rules, artwork, and expanded content based on feedback from thousands of players over the past five years.

The Evolved Edition is designed to be a great starting point for newcomers, with an updated Starter Set that includes abridged rules, character sheets, custom dice, and more. The redesigned Core Rulebook features new page layouts by Johan Nohr, known for his work on MÖRK BORG, and a new cover by artist Colm Geoghegan of Creepy Duck Design.

It also features updated maps and artwork, along with detailed updates to talents, stress and panic mechanics, stealth, and combat. New content from Alien: Romulus adds iconic weapons, items, ships, and locations, while expanded rules now support miniatures play, zero gravity, and larger campaign experiences.

For solo players, a new mode called Last Survivor has been introduced, designed by solo RPG experts Shawn Tomkin and Matt Click. The Evolved Edition set set also features an expanded version of the popular Hope’s Last Day scenario, set just before the events of ALIENS.

In addition, the new cinematic adventure Rapture Protocol takes players back to the roots of the ALIEN franchise, where they’ll play as the crew of a small star freighter involved in a deadly conflict at a remote industrial colony. A new Miniatures Set, featuring detailed 28mm miniatures of soldiers, space truckers, Xenomorphs, and more, will allow players to bring the events of Rapture Protocol and other RPG scenarios to life.

The Evolved Edition content will also be available for play on popular Virtual Tabletop platforms, including Alchemy, Foundry, Roll20, and Demiplane.
