Episode 1 Act 3 of Valorant arrives this Tuesday, 13th October. Riot Games have revealed a solid majority of the Act’s contents ahead of the update and there’s a ton to be excited for.
After months of waiting, a fifth map, Icebox, is being added into the rotation and the Act 2 Battle Pass is being replaced by a fresh version. However, possibly more intriguing than those pieces of content is the arrival of Skye.

Trailblazer (Q): Equip a Tasmanian tiger trinket. Fire to send out and take control of the predator. While in control, fire to leap forward, exploding in a concussive blast and damaging directly hit enemies.
Signature Ability:
Guiding Light (E): Equip a hawk trinket. Fire to send it forward. Hold fire to guide the hawk in the direction of your crosshair. Re-use while the hawk is in flight to transform it into a flash.
Ultimate Ability:
Seekers (X): Equip a Seeker trinket. Fire to send out three Seekers to track down the three closest enemies. If a seeker reaches the target, it near sights them.
Tips and Tricks
- Three of Skye’s abilities are used to flash or disorient the opponents in some way.
Trailblazer can be used in unison or separate from Sova’s Owl Drone to gather intel on where the enemy team is set up on offense or defense. - Seekers track down the three closest enemies to them. If the enemy team only has two members left though, only two Seekers will be sent.
- You can move while using Regrowth. Once you start healing someone inside of the circle, a timer starts to tick down from 100.
Strategies
Ultimately, Skye seems to be a mix of both Sova, Sage, and Phoenix. The basic ability Trailblazer acts a lot like Sova’s Owl Drone but instead of tracking an enemy, the controllable tiger concusses enemies. This is a terrific ability to gather information at the beginning of a round or while a bomb is planted.

In regards to Regrowth, her healing works a little differently than Sage’s. Skye needs to be near the teammate being healed for the entire duration of the process. So while it might not be as powerful as Sage’s healing orb, it still provides your team with a healing ability.
Lastly, Skye’s abilities are largely centered around disorienting enemies, hence the comparison to Phoenix. Seekers is an extremely powerful ability that, if used correctly, could be the best flashing ability in Valorant. However, Guiding Light is also strong and is perfect for checking corners and flashing bombsites.
