While we are gearing up for Masters Shanghai, Riot has shared historic viewership stats for Masters Madrid 2024. The event has become the most-watched VCT tournament till date with peak concurrent viewership of 3.1 Million which is 48% higher than Masters Tokyo 2023.
Not only this, the Average Minute Audience (AMA) also saw a 97% increase in comparison to Masters Tokyo and has set a new global event record of 1.1 Million AMA.
Sentinels winning the Masters Madrid trophy and their epic finals against Gen.G served as a huge factor in achieving these numbers.
Following this success of Masters Madrid, Leo Faria, Global Head of Valorant Esports has announced a new segment for Masters Shanghai that "will increase competition
stakes." In the event, the high-seeded teams will get to choose their opponents following the Swiss stage, making seeding matches even more crucial.
In the few upcoming days, all the qualified teams for Masters Shanghai will be finalized and we will see them battling from May 23 through June 9. The event will feature a total of 12 teams from EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and China and will conclude at the largest venue in VCT history— the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
