Nearly two months after wrapping up some relatively small additions right after the game launch, the next UFC 5 roster update is kicking off a huge set of new fighters coming this spring and summer. There was significant backlash from fans when UFC 5 first released last year that the roster wasn't up to par with multiple ranked fighters missing entirely.
EA Sports quickly responded by announcing a handful of new fighters in each UFC 5 roster update, but fears that the roster's growth had fizzled out are can now be put to rest. We've got details below on every new fighter coming in the April UFC 5 roster update and future updates.
UFC 5 Roster Update (April 4 / UFC 300)
Likely the least surprising detail about this news is that they've aligned each UFC 5 roster update with an upcoming UFC event. Ahead of UFC 300, they're kicking off a series of updates with the following nine new fighters:
- Movsar Evloev (#5 FEATHERWEIGHT)
- Brendan Allen (#6 MW)
- Marina Rodriguez (#6 WSW)
- Muhammad Mokaev (#7 FLYWEIGHT)
- Serghei Spivac (#9 HW)
- Geoff Neal (#10 WW)
- Umar Nurmagomedov (#10 BW)
- Tracy Cortez (#11 WFW)
- Diego Lopes
This will kickoff the largest post-launch roster expansion in series history, and none of them will be DLC locked. Every single UFC 5 roster update will be available for free.
UFC 5 Roster Update Schedule
Looking ahead, we've already got confirmation of three additional updates following the one on April 4. Altogether, the four updates will add 34 new fighters to UFC 5, in addition to the 10 from all previous post-launch updates, leaving us with 44 new fighters less than one year after the game launched.
