Escape Turret Truck Tank in TLOU Part 1 Pittsburgh

Towards the end of The Last of Us Part 1's story, Chapter 5, entitled Pittsburgh, the hunters that you've been fighting the entire chapter will call on a Turrent Truck, aka Tank, to take down the player, raining bullets on Ellie and Joel.

You can't defeat TLOU Part 1's Tank at this point, and you will need to escape instead. The tank first appears in a courtyard featuring two big buildings. Both these buildings are occupied by hunters, so sneak to the first one and take them out, then cross the courtyard to the building on the opposite side.

If you are spotted, try to dodge the Tank's fire, using vehicles as cover. Head through the second building until you enter an alley. From here, run down the alley dodging Tank fire, and move to the right into another building, then head upstairs, past a walkway outside, and into a window, where you will meet brothers Henry and Sam.

The Last of Us Part 1 Tank Boss: How To Beat

In the Suburbs (Chapter 6) of the story, the Tank makes a return, and this time, there is a way to defeat it. 

During the Sniper portion of Chapter 6, the hunters will call in the Tanks boss once again, and this time, you can beat it. As the Tank appears, so do the three hunters. They come in from the same direction as the tank boss. 

First, you need to snipe all three hunters. Two of them are located on the upper-right side hiding behind the wall and sticking their necks out from time to time. The third one is left of the initial two, hiding behind a tree.

After you've taken out all the hunters, you will notice the Tank's hatch opening up every few seconds, with the enemy inside using this time to throw a Molotov. Wait for the hatch to open and shoot the enemy, then watch the Tank boss from The Last of Us Part 1 get destroyed in spectacular fashion.
