An image of what looks to be a demo of Tekken 8 has surfaced online, showing ten characters available to choose from in the fighting game and also suggesting that we may be getting news about the game sooner rather than later.
What isn't clear is if this is the ten characters that will be available at the start of the game prior to any unlocks, or if this is just the characters that are available in this demo version of the game. Director Katsuhiro Harada has previously stated that Tekken 8 will feature more playable characters at launch than Street Fighter 6, and we know that Street Fighter 6 is launching with 18 different playable characters at launch, with potential DLC coming later.
With a PlayStation Showcase rumored to be coming later this month, and Tekken 8 seeming to be in a playable demo state, it's possible that we see more of the game soon, similar to how the game was first announced at a PlayStation show. If the game launches this year, it would mark a clash of titans between Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, with a potential third contender launching this year in the rumored Mortal Kombat 1 title.
