Developer Croteam has provided players the golden opportunity to prove that they’re not an outsider with a unique look into their upcoming game, The Talos Principle 2. This opportunity gives players valuable insight into the development of the science fiction puzzle game by experiencing some of the puzzles they’ll encounter throughout their gameplay.
Once their trial has been completed, they’ll be granted access from the starting location into New Jerusalem, expanding some early details into the game’s narrative. If you’re still intrigued, we’ve detailed everything about the gameplay demo for The Talos Principle 2, including the installation guide, available platforms, and more.
Is There A Demo For The Talos Principle 2?
Yes, a demo of The Talos Principle 2 is currently available for players to try their hand at, which became available during the Steam Next Fest in October 2023. The playable demo has been treated as a “standalone,” according to developer Croteam, which has been “specially tailored” for those wanting to experience what the sequel offers.

With a demo currently available for the sci-fi puzzle platformer, naturally, players are excited to experience what the developer has created for them to explore. Unfortunately, the demo is exclusively available on PC via Steam, meaning PlayStation and Xbox owners won’t have access to the demo ahead of launch.
The same can be said for PC players with an Epic Games account, as the demo is unavailable from the digital storefront. Nevertheless, players still have time to pre-order their copy of The Talos Principle 2 to take advantage of the pre-order discount of 10% before launch.
How To Download And Play The Talos Principle 2 Demo?
Players have one of two ways to download the demo for The Talos Principle 2: the first is through the game’s website. When on the website, scroll down the menu options, click on the “demo.txt” tab, and download the demo from the website to proceed.
Similarly, they can navigate directly to the game’s Steam listing before clicking on the “Download” button beside the demo banner, but do be warned that the demo is about 22.8 GB, so reserve some space. Once installed, boot up the game from their Steam library, and they can immediately play a “simulation” the developer built in the starting location before exploring what’s beyond it.
Players are to note that progress made in the demo doesn’t carry over into the game upon release, as it’s merely a “simulation” of the puzzles they could encounter in-game. Therefore, they can “play through some of the puzzles from the very beginning of the game before moving forward to roughly a halfway point and seeing how things evolve.”
The Talos Principle 2 launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam on 2nd November 2023. The game is available to pre-order and can be added to the Wishlist for PlayStation and PC.
