Lucasfilm revealed its latest anthology series, Tales of the Empire, which will arrive on the streaming service Disney+ this May with key artwork and an official trailer. The series focuses on intriguing stories following two characters who have been intrigued by the dark side of the Force.
Akin to Tales of the Jedi, the art style for Tales of the Empire will be similar as audiences will immerse deep within the Galactic Empire. The series is confirmed to premiere on 4th May 2024, on Star Wars Day, as the series is set during the Galactic Empire.
Serving as the companion piece to Tales of the Jedi, Tales of the Empire will follow two unique and diverging stories that have previously been unexplored. The series finds Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee embarking on a perilous journey to become the intimidating warriors they become.
According to the official description from StarWars.com, Morgan "navigates the expanding Imperial world towards a path of vengeance" as Offee has to adapt and survive an everchanging galaxy as they make hard decisions that will change their destinies. The trailer also saw notable Star Wars characters appearing in the series, including Admiral Thrawn, the Grand Inquisitor, General Grievous, and Darth Vader.
The series will also see the Nighsisters make an appearance following their live-action debut in last year's Ahsoka series. The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian director Dave Filoni is helming the project, with The Bad Batch's Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck serving as executive producers.
This six-part anthology series will arrive on Star Wars Day, 4th May 2024, on Disney+, and it's likely that all six episodes will be available to watch.
