Today's Silent Hill Transmission has had a ton of Silent Hill updates in store for fans, including some closer looks at the upcoming movie Return to Silent Hill. During the Transmission, writer and director Christophe Gans discussed his visions for the film in a four-minute behind-the-scenes sneak peek.
The film's creators also revealed that all of the monsters in the movie are played by real people rather than CGI, just as they were in the first Silent Hill film, also directed by Christophe Gans. "If the first film has aged well, [that's] why," he said.
"[Silent Hill 2] is a deep dive into psychological horror," Gans further explained, letting fans know that he's a huge fan of the first four games and sees them as "masterpieces."

In other Silent Hill news, the Silent Hill transmission also showcased new footage from the Silent Hill 2 remake and offered fans a release date for the highly-anticipated title. Various new merchandise, including an official James Sunderland jacket and action figures in the Konami Shop, were announced as well.
While many fans were expecting to hear news about the upcoming Silent Hill: F and Townfall games that were announced during last year's transmission, Konami didn't provide any updates on those titles during the stream. It's possible that more information about these titles will be revealed in an upcoming Silent Hill transmission later this year, but so far, nothing has been officially announced.
