After the Silent Hill 2 Remake was announced last year during the Silent Hill Transmission, fans have mostly been met with radio silence from Bloober Team and Konami, aside from a single disappointing comment that a leaked release date was incorrect.
Though fans will need to wait a little longer to play Silent Hill 2 than many expected, it seems that the game is still coming, after all. Bloober Team confirmed on X/Twitter that Silent Hill 2's remake is not canceled.
"Tell us if Silent Hill 2 Remake has been canceled, because it really feels like a joke," one X/Twitter user wrote. Bloober Team responded with a gif of Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow shaking a finger at the viewer, with some text reading "not true."
"Where is the remake?" Another fan asked, to which Bloober Team responded with a gif of someone working behind a computer, accompanied with text stating "work in progress."
This suggests that the Silent Hill 2 remake is still in development, and isn't quite ready for release quite yet. This might be sad news for any fans who were hoping for a late 2024 release, but many will be thankful to hear that Silent Hill 2's remake hasn't been canceled.
It's possible that we could hear more news soon from Bloober Team and Konami regarding the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, but all we know for now is that the game is still in the works. Recently, some fans discovered Silent Hill 2 promotional posters, suggesting that marketing for the game may begin soon and that a release date might be approaching more quickly than we think.
