Fans have eagerly been awaiting the release of Konami and Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 Remake for a while now, but they've been provided little news about the game until just recently, when Konami released a combat trailer for the game that was met immediately with mixed reviews. Some fans claimed it was too full of action and focused too much on combat, while others praised the updated graphics and believed it to be a promising second look at the Silent Hill 2 remake, preceded only by the game's announcement trailer.
Bloober Team's CEO, Piotr Babieno, shared his own thoughts on the controversial combat trailerin a now-deleted interview with YouTube channel inwestorzy.tv. The original interview was in Polish, but has since been transcribed using online translator tools.
“Quite seriously, we are not responsible for the marketing side. Our partner [Konami] is entirely responsible for this," Babieno said. "This trailer certainly does not reflect the spirit of the game. This is neither the spirit of what once was nor the spirit of what we are creating now."
Bloober Team has previously promised fans that the remake will be true to the original Silent Hill 2, and will maintain the "spirit" of the original game that fans love so much.
"We try to fully reflect this ideal vision of the game that debuted 22 years ago," he added. "We think that when players see real gameplay, a real game, they will evaluate it in a completely different way.”
