Mariana’s Veil is an expansive underwater cave system in Fisch that stretches over 12,000 studs deep beneath Roslit Bay (XYZ coordinates: 1500, 125, 530). Each layer has increasingly dangerous conditions, requiring Submarine and Glimmerfin Suit upgrades to survive its depths.
Volcanic Vents
The first layer of Mariana’s Veil is the Volcanic Vents (XYZ coordinates: -2745, -2325, 865). This region is filled with lava flows and extreme heat. Before proceeding, you’ll need to acquire the Heat Upgrade for your Submarine at the Upgrade Station inside the large cave. Here’s how to unlock it:
- Use the Drill you got from Dr. Glimmerfin to get Lava Crystals from the volcanic rocks in the area. Each volcanic rock takes 5 drills to break and has a small chance of dropping Lava Crystals.
- Now, catch the following fish in the volcanic lava pools: Inferno Hide, Blisterback Benny, and Infernal Iguanafish.
After completing these steps, you can upgrade your submarine at the Heat Submarine Upgrade Station to allow it to withstand extreme temperatures. You'll also get a Lvl 1Glimmerfin Suit. Now you're ready to continue exploring the depths of Mariana's Veil in Fisch.
Challenger's Deep
The second layer of Mariana's Veil is Challenger’s Deep (the entrance is at XYZ coordinates: -2630, -3830, 755). This is a freezing abyss filled with icy waters and strong currents. To survive, you must obtain the Ice Upgrade for your Submarine by following these steps:
- Drill icy rocks in the cave to collect an Ice Crystal. Similarly to volcanic rock, it takes 5 drills to break the icy rock. Theere'a also a small chance of dropping Ice Crystals.
- Catch a Cryoskin and Polar Prowler from the frozen waters.
After completing these steps, you can upgrade your submarine at the ice Submarine Upgrade Station to prevent freezing. You'll also get a Lvl 2 Glimmerfin Suit. With the Ice Upgrade, you’ll be able to push further into Mariana’s Veil in Fisch.
Abyssal Zenith
The Abyssal Zenith is a dark uncharted cavern within Mariana's Veil in Fisch (XYZ: -5375, -7390, 400). It's home to aggressive deep-sea creatures and enormous Anglerfish that will instantly kill you if you get too close. To explore this area, you’ll need the Deep Upgrade to withstand its extreme pressure and darkness:
- Collect the Angler’s Lantern by calming the Anglerfish by holding out an Orca or Kraken. By doing this, you'll have 5 minutes to interact with the fish and take the Angler's Lantern.
- Catch these rare deep-sea fish: Abyssal Bearded Seadevil and Voidglow Ghostfish
After you've got these materials, upgrade your submarine at the Deep Submarine Upgrade Station. You'll also unlock the Lvl3 Glimmerfin Suit. Once upgraded, you’ll be able to reach the final layer of Mariana’s Veil, the Calm Zone.
Pro Tip: Make sure you're holding the Orca or Kraken before you enter the Abyssal Zenith waters and wait for the Angerfish to approach you. There are three Anglerfish in the area so you might need to feed all of them to avoid getting killed.
Calm Zone
The Calm Zone (XYZ: -4145, -11210, 1395) is the last layer before reaching the Veil of the Forsaken, where the Scylla Boss Fight takes place. This section requires that you solve a series of puzzles. Since this area leads to one of the toughest challenges in the game, you can learn more by reading my guide on how to beat the Scylla Boss Fight in Fisch.
