The 2023 version of Resident Evil 4 is a reimagining of the 2005's cult classic of the same name. Since it's a reimagining and not a remake, there are subtle changes and nuances to make it more in line with modern AAA games.
One of the key new additions in Resident Evil 4 is Charms. In Resident Evil Village, there were weapon charms, but in RE 4, there are Attache Charms which are more than just cute cosmetic items. Here's everything you need to know about them.
Charms in Resident Evil 4 Explained
Firstly, Charms in Resident Evil 4 are items you can attach to your briefcase to customize its appearance. Every charm also comes with a unique perk, like an increased drop rate for red herbs or an increased critical hit rate. You can have more than one Charm attached to your case at any moment.
How to unlock Charms in Resident Evil 4
You can unlock charms by inserting silver or gold tokens at the token machine in the merchant's hideout. Charms are randomly rewarded though you can increase the drop rate of rare charms by inserting more Gold Tokens. Later on in the campaign, you can also trade Spinal for Gold Tokens. You can swap your Charms via the Customize Case option on any Typewriter.
The Merchant keeps adding new weapon trials, so make sure to stop by his hideout every now and then. While these aren't game-changing, equipping the right charm could make the late-game experience more pleasing.
And that's it! That's everything you need to know about weapon charms in Resident Evil 4.
