Developer Rockstar Games continues expanding its Western action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption, announcing that it's bringing the game to PC for the first time. 14 years following its initial release, the action-adventure game can be explored "in stunning, new detail" as the developer are adding new PC optimizations and adjustments with its release on 29th October 2024.

But that's not all, as the game's only expansion, Undead Nightmare, will also be heading to PC the same day as the base game's release, arriving in time to experience this Halloween. The game and the Undead Nightmare DLC are now available for pre-orders and Wishlisting on the available PC platforms, including the official Rockstar Store.

The official game description for Red Dead Redemption was revealed for the game's PC release, in which players can "experience the story of former outlaw John Marston as he tracks down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang in the PC debut of the critically acclaimed predecessor to Red Dead Redemption 2."  According to the official announcement, Rockstar Games detailed what PC optimizations and adjustments are included with Red Dead Redemption at launch later, including the Undead Nightmare DLC and all "bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition and more" this month.

These include native 4K resolution at up to 144hz, Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) monitor support, HDR10 support, and peripheral support for keyboard and mouse. The developer also revealed that "upscaling technologies" for NVIDIA's DLSS 3.7 and AMD's FSR 3.0 will be added with the game's release along with "DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more."

The developer has already released the game and DLC for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles over the last year, with unique optimizations for their respective platform included. As of writing, the game and the DLC are currently being marketed together as a bundled pack for PC on Epic Games Store and Steam, which players can add to their Wishlist or pre-order their copy via the Rockstar Store, which will be available soon.
