A new third-party sale event is making waves on the digital storefront Steam, which sees a number of eye-watering discounts on games, expansions, other game content, and more. This current Steam Sale offers several classic titles and franchise games from developer Rockstar Games, available at discounted prices for a limited time to players who have yet to add one of their games to their library.

One game currently on sale is their 2018 release, Red Dead Redemption 2, discounted by 75% until 6th February 2025 as part of the Rockstar Games Steam Sale. The game's popularity and current presence on the Rockstar Games Steam Sale saw it reach a new milestone as players jumped in to experience the exploits of the Van der Linde gang.

The Rockstar Games Sale is live on Steam between 24th January and 6th February 2025, and players can save up to 80% off selected titles, including Bully, L.A. Noire, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption 2 is one featured game on sale, and its discounted price of $15 attracted players to add the game to their library and help it reach a new Steam milestone as of 26th January 2025.

According to SteamDB, Red Dead Redemption 2 "has peaked at 86,717 concurrent players," a 54.1% jump from December 2024, more than five years following its initial release for consoles and PC. Furthermore, based on additional data via SteamDB, Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently the second best-selling game on the Top Sellers chart, and it's likely to continue until the Rockstar Games Sale ends early next month.

Following the epic Western tale of the Van der Linde gang through the perspective of Arthur Morgan, Red Dead Redemption 2 received mostly positive reviews and has been ranked as one of the best open-world games and received over 175 Game of the Year Awards. Red Dead Online left many players disappointed as it was hampered by technical issues and an unbalanced economy, offering lackluster content in an empty multiplayer environment.
