Test Your Mettle in Pokémon GO is an upcoming Steel-type event that will have plenty of corresponding wild spawns and research and encounters. On September 16, Trainers around the world will have the opportunity to catch all kinds of Pokémon that have the potential for a shiny form.
At this point in Pokémon GO, there are a ton of shiny forms available in the game. Generation I and II alone have a completely shiny Pokédex. However, Test Your Mettle will have features across most generations. Our guide will outline which Pokémon in the Season of Light event have a shiny form.
Every Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO Test Your Mettle
During the Test Your Mettle event in Pokémon GO, there are a few different debuts for Trainers to catch. These include Mega Aggron, Kartana, Celesteela, and Togedemaru. Of those four new additions to the game, only one of them will have a shiny form.

During the event, there will also be a set of timed research available for the week of Test Your Mettle. These sets of research always feature some of the event Pokémon as rewards and they are a great way to attempt a shiny catch. Normal shiny odds are about 1 in 500 from a wild encounter. Rewards tend to make it less than an eighth of that.
When you attempt to search the wild in Pokémon GO for your own Steel-type shinies, it's important to remember that they aren't guaranteed. You can make the most of the frequent spawns with Lure items, but there is still a ton of chance involved.
You'll have from September 16 to September 21 to encounter as many Steel-types as possible before the Test Your Mettle event comes to a close. Afterward, the shiny forms won't go away, but they'll certainly be harder to get.
