A brand new report has unveiled the ongoing successes of Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket, which launched for mobile devices at the end of last month, bringing in the top dollars. The mobile game was released for Android and iOS devices on 30th October 2024 to a positive reception by critics and players alike, despite some technical issues experienced with its iOS version post-launch, which has been patched as of writing.
This; however, didn't seem to deter its success as it had amassed a massive revenue in the days following its release. This information is sourced from the market intelligence tool, AppMagic, which revealed the game has racked up over $12 million in revenue, and it's showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
Since its launch, it has been reported by AppMagic that Pokémon TCG Pocket is estimated to have amassed over $12 million in four days, around $3 million daily since its release. 43% of that revenue came from Japan, with the US following behind, contributing to 27% of the revenue within these four days.
In terms of game downloads, the US contributed the most downloads over the four days, with 31% of total downloads coming from the country, while 11% came from Brazil, as the game surpassed 10 million downloads within the four days post-launch. By comparison between the Apple App Store and Google Play Store versions, AppMagic (h/t VGC) indicates that players on iOS devices have spent more money on microtransactions, accounting for over $10,5 million on "in-app purchases."
So, what's next for the team at Creatures Inc., and what lies ahead for the Pokémon TCG Pocket community? Well, they have confirmed that in-game events will be arriving shortly; however, one has already begun as the Wonder Pick Event Part 1 is underway until 14th November 2024 at 9:59 pm PT and 12:59 am ET / 5:59 am UTC on 15th November 2024.
