Pokémon GO Psychic Spectacular – Dates, Featured Pokémon, More

Pokémon GO developer Niantic will bring back one of its popular in-game events for the Season of Light update. The Psychic Spectacular event made its first appearance in 2018, which saw plenty of Psychic-type Pokémon spawning through wild encounters and various Raids.

This year’s edition sees two major Raids for Trainers to participate in, featuring the Mega Alakazam and Deoxys, as the latter has a dedicated Raid day during the event. We’ve detailed everything about the Psychic Spectacular event, including its event schedule, featured Pokémon, and more.

Pokémon GO Psychic Spectacular – Event Dates And Times

The Psychic Spectacular event returns to Pokémon GO for one week during the Season of Light. The event will run from 6th to 12th September 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

This event, centered around Psychic-type Pokémon, will feature several appearing in the wild and through various Raids. It will also overlap with the Deoxys Raid Day event on 11th September 2022 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

Pokémon GO Psychic Spectacular – Featured Pokémon

Niantic will feature a plethora of Psychic-type Pokémon in this event with an increased chance of encountering them. Additionally, the Shiny Elgyem will debut in Pokémon GO with an opportunity to come across it, should they be lucky enough to find them.

Deoxys will appear in five-star Raids during this event in addition to its special event, Deoxys Raid Day, with all four variations featured. Lastly, the Mega Alakazam will be available for the first time in Pokémon GO as the featured Pokémon for the Mega Raids.

Trainers can hatch specific Psychic-type Pokémon from 7km Eggs throughout the event. These Pokémon are Chingling, Smoochum, and Wynaut, with a possibility of hatching their Shiny forms from these Eggs.

Timed Research tasks focused on Curveball Throws can be accessed during this limited-time event. Those looking to complete this specific task will be able to increase their chances of encountering Elgyem more frequently in the wild.

Pokémon GO Psychic Spectacular – GO Battle League

Niantic has provided details for the upcoming GO Battle League event, the Psychic Cup, occurring during the Psychic Spectacular. The Psychic Cup will run from 8th to 15th September 2022 at 1 p.m. PDT.

A few prerequisites have been outlined for the event, including all participating Pokémon having a Combat Power (CP) of 1,500 and lower. As Psychic-type Pokémon are only allowed to compete in the event, the only Pokémon not allowed to enter is Mew.
