Pokémon GO is celebrating the changes to Mega Raids and Mega Evolution with its Pokemon GO Air Adventures event, coupled with the introduction of two fan-favorite Pokémon to the game. Pokémon Air Adventures will last from 3rd May 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to 8th May 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Here's what players can expect, from which Pokémon will spawn and which will debut, to the research trainers can complete.
Pokémon GO Air Adventures - Featured Pokémon
The Pokémon GO Air Adventures event both marks the debut of some Pokémon to the game and will highlight some existing ones, particularly Flying-type Pokémon.
Pokémon debuts - Mega Latios and Mega Latias
Mega Latios and Mega Latios will both make their debut in Mega Raids during the Pokémon Air Adventures event, with the chance of being Shiny.

Latias and Latios caught during the event will both know a special attack; Latias will learn the Charged Attack Mist Ball, while Latios will learn the Charged Attack Luster Purge.
Wild encounters
The following Pokémon will be more common in the wild throughout the duration of the event:
- Flying Pikachu
- Jigglypuff
- Meowth
- Psyduck
- Doduo
- Magikarp
- Wingull
- Swablu
- Drifloon
- Charizard
- Mantine
Raid Pokémon
Some Pokémon will also appear at an increased rate in raids, all with a chance of being shiny.
The event raid Pokémon are as follows:
- Charizard (3-star raid)
- Lapras (3-star raid)
- Togekiss (3-star raid)
- Mega Latios (Mega Raids)
- Mega Latias (Mega Raids)
Field research task encounters
The following Pokémon can be encountered through completing Field Research during the Air Adventures event:
- Flying Pikachu
- Doduo
- Swablu
- Emolga
Pokémon GO Air Adventures - Timed research
Trainers will be able to conduct special Timed Research during the event allowing them to catch Pikachu and Flying-type Pokémon to follow the event's "air adventures" theme.
Rewards for timed research will include 50 Latias Mega Energy and 50 Latios Mega Energy, 3,000 EXP, and the possibility of an encounter with Flying Pikachu.
Pokémon GO Air Adventures - Bonuses
Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will have ½ hatch distance, meaning trainers can hatch an Egg placed in an Incubator in half the time during the event.
Trainers will also be able to purchase event stickers from the store, and attendees of the live Pokémon Air Adventures event can also receive stickers by spinning Pokéstops and opening Gifts from friends.
