Pokémon GO Bug Out! Catch Challenge - All Timed Research

Before the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 Finale arrives, the Bug Out! event will serve as one of the final themed weeks of the Summer, and Trainers can expect a brand new Catch Challenge. The latest timed research will task players with catching all kinds of Bug-type Pokémon in the wild.

You'll have about one week to complete all of the special event challenges, whether it's a Collection Challenge or the Catch Challenge. Bug Out! begins on August 10 and will run until August 16. After the event comes to a close, you won't be able to access any of the research, but this guide will outline each step of the way so you don't miss it.

All timed research for the Pokémon GO Bug Out! Collection Challenge

Both the Catch Challenge and the Collection Challenge in the Bug Out! event are two entirely different tasks. While they are live in Pokémon GO, they will offer some exclusive rewards like an Elite Collector Badge, or in this case, an easy way to earn some Mega Energy for the debut of Mega Scizor.

Many of the other rewards for the Catch Challenge are run-of-the-mill for an event like this. It's exciting to get the chance for a Pinsir or a Scyther as a reward, especially with the opportunity for a shiny. However, Mega Scizor and Grubbin will be the only two major rewards in the research.

Bug Out! Catch Challenge 1/3:

• Catch 25 Bug-type Pokémon - 25 Poké Balls
• Walk 2 km - Beedrill Encounter
• Make 15 Nice Throws - 20 Great Balls
• Make 10 Great Throws - 10 Ultra Balls
• Make 5 Curveball Throws - 10 Pinap Berries
• Use 10 berries to help catch Pokémon - Combee Encounter
• Rewards: Shedinja Encounter, 1 Lure Module, 2,500 XP

Bug Out! Catch Challenge 2/3:

• Catch 25 Bug-type Pokémon - 25 Poké Balls
• Hatch an Egg - 3 Golden Razz Berries
• Evolve 2 Bug-type Pokémon - Grubbin Encounter
• Make 10 Great Throws - 20 Great Balls
• Catch 10 different species of Bug-type Pokémon - 50 Beedrill Mega Energy
• Take snapshots of 5 different wild Bug-type Pokémon - Venipede Encounter
• Rewards: Pinsir Encounter, 1,000 Stardust, 2,500 XP

Bug Out! Catch Challenge 3/3:

• Claim Reward - Caterpie Encounter
• Claim Reward - 1,000 XP
• Claim Reward - Wurmple Encounter
• Claim Reward - 1,000 XP
• Claim Reward - Weedle Encounter
• Claim Reward - 1,000 XP
• Rewards: 50 Scizor Mega Energy, Scyther

Compared to other Special Research events, or even time research, in this case, the challenges are a walk in the park. It might take a couple of casual days to tick off all the boxes, but step three is nothing but rewards. Everything else is all about catching.
