On September 27, Pokémon GO will get a new debut in the form of Mareanie and Toxapex. The Poison-type Pokémon and its evolution will arrive in the mobile game for the first time as soon as the Fashion Week event goes live.
If you're a long-time Pokémon GO player, you might have guessed that the next debut in the game would be from Generation VII. Many of the Pokémon from Sun and Moon are still absent, along with the latest generation. Mareanie and Toxapex are helping to close the gap on the missing in the Pokédex.
Pokémon GO - How to get Mareanie and Toxapex
Anytime a new Pokémon debuts in Pokémon GO, the method of catching can wildly vary. If it's a Legendary in question, then you'll likely need to play in a five-star raid. If it's during an event like GO Fest, then you may simply need to complete some Research Tasks. In the case of Mareanie and Toxapex, getting a new catch is much simpler.
Fashion Week will go live on September 27 and you can expect a whole lineup of themed Pokémon in the wild. Mareanie is one of the wild spawns that will be frequent until October 3 when the event comes to an end. However, there will be plenty of other wild spawns as well, so you'll need to stay vigilant.

Mareanie will also be available in Field Research Task rewards or as a three-star raid boss. For those that can get to a raid in person, it's likely worth it to jump in, but it's not recommended to use a remote raid pass on a Pokémon that is frequently spawning in the wild.
As you start catching Mareanie, you'll need at least 17 different catchest to get the 50 candies needed for a Toxapex. That process can be shortened by using Pinap Berries and transferring the Pokémon that you no longer need. This still applies to raids and research tasks as well.
Toxapex won't be available in wild or in raids, so searching the wild for the duration of Fashion Week is important in this case. Within no time, you'll have a Brutal Star Pokémon of your own and more of the overall Pokédex filled out.
