How to catch Keldeo in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra DLC

Along with a new story mode, Pokémon Sword and Shield’s second expansion The Crown Tundra also brings back a bunch of legendary and mythical Pokémon. 

These range from new beasts like Calyrex, the legendary dogs and Galarian versions of the legendary birds, but the Swords of Justice introduced in Generation V also make their return. 

There’s a unique trick to catching one of them, Keldeo, in Pokémon Sword and Shield however, so here’s what you need to know about finding it in The Crown Tundra.

How to catch Keldeo in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra

To find Keldeo, you first have to catch the other three members of the Swords of Justice aka Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion scattered around The Crown Tundra. 

To find the other three members, you have to collect various scattered footprints across different areas of the map.

For Cobalion, head to the Roaring Sea Caves and Frigid Sea area and collect 50 footprints to complete the data investigation 100%. Once completed, Cobalion will appear in the Frigid Sea for you to catch. 

For Terrakion, do the same footprint search but in the Lakeside Cave and Ballimere Lake areas. Terrakion will appear in the Lakeside Cave once completed.

For Virizion, perform the same task but in the Giant’s Bed area to make the Pokémon appear.

Once you have all three, head to a small island in Ballimere Lake where there’s an empty pot under a tree. With Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion in your party, set up camp and make a curry on the island. 

Once you’ve made any curry of your choosing, Keldeo will appear. Just head over to the Pokémon to start a battle to capture it. Keldeo will be at level 65. 

Keldeo is a Water/Fighting type Pokémon who comes with moves, Secret Sword, Sacred Sword, Swords Dance and Hydro Pump.
