February is about love, romance, and friendship, as Niantic will roll out its next event in the current Season of Mythical Wishes. The Valentine’s Day Event will see plenty of Pokémon spreading their love with each other and their Trainers with new in-game activities.
The event also marks new Timed Research activities, a brand new Mega Raid battle with Mega Gardevoir, and two Shiny Pokémon debuts to celebrate the event. Here’s everything about the Valentine’s Day Event, including the event schedule, featured Pokémon, event bonuses, and more in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Valentine’s Day Event – Event Dates & Times
With Trainers sending Team GO Rocket blasting off away once more, it’s time to spend with our loved ones, including our Buddy Pokémon, in the Valentine’s Day event. This limited-time event will begin on 8th February 2023 at 10 am local time and conclude on Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2023, at 8 pm local time.
During the event, Trainers can encounter various Pokémon in the wild and through Raid Battles, new Egg hatches, complete the Timed Research tasks, and the Global Valentine’s Day Challenge. Additionally, there are two event bonuses to take advantage of, namely double Stardust when opening Gifts, and you can activate Lure Modules during the event, lasting two hours.
Pokémon GO Valentine’s Day Event – Featured Pokémon
This Valentine’s Day, several Pokémon debuts are occurring during the event duration, with possible Shiny forms emerging. Gardevoir will debut as a new Mega Raid boss for the event’s Mega Raids available until the event concludes.
Additionally, Tapu Lele will return to Pokémon GO, this time in its Shiny form, which also makes its in-game debut. Likewise, Frillish will receive a Shiny form which Trainers can encounter in the wild, hatching Eggs and completing Field and Timed Research tasks.
Lastly, Flabébé and Furfrou will have various forms spawning in the wild during this event as you encounter White and Orange Flower Flabébé with Red, Blue, and Yellow Flower Flabébé appearing based on your region. You can change Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou for this event should you be lucky enough to catch it.

As mentioned above, Flabébé and Furfrou can be caught if spotted in wild encounters with the chance of being their Shiny forms*. There are other Pokémon you can find and attempt to catch for the event’s duration, which we’ve listed below:

Pokémon GO Valentine’s Day – Global Valentine’s Challenge
Niantic will also launch a timed Global Challenge alongside the Valentine’s Day event, which will commence on 7th February 2023 at 12 pm PST and conclude on 14th February 2023 at 10 pm PST. You must work with fellow Trainers by forwarding Gifts to earn bonuses, the global goal being 100,000,000 Gifts.
The bonuses you can earn from the Global Valentine’s Challenge are Triple Transfer Candy and Double Transfer Candy XL for Trainer Level 31 and higher. These bonuses will be available until the event ends on 14th February 2023 at 8 pm local time.
