With their Grunts and Leaders ready to battle against brave Trainers globally, their Boss, Giovanni, will keep an eye on all activities happening in-game.
To reach Giovanni, complete the available Field Research tasks before tackling the Special Research story and face him in battle. This guide details all the Field Research tasks and rewards for the Team GO Rocket Takeover in Pokémon GO.

All Team GO Rocket Takeover Field Research Challenges & Rewards
The first Team GO Rocket takeover event of 2023 arrives shortly as their Boss Giovanni, his Leaders Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, and their Grunts will be invading PokéStops globally. The event will run between 1st February 2023 at 12 am local time and 5th February 2023 at 11:59 pm local time for you to rescue Shadow Pokémon and defeat Team GO Rocket.
For Trainers to track down Team GO Rocket Leaders Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, you'll need to challenge their Grunts in battle and acquire a Mysterious Component by defeating them. You'll need six fragments to produce a Rocket Radar, which can help you track the leader down.

- Defeat two Team GO Rocket Grunts:
- Mysterious Component x1
- Hyper Potion x3
- Revive x2
- Super Potion x3
Another way of getting a Mysterious Component is by completing the event's Field Research tasks which will award you a Mysterious Component. With the Rocket Radar equipped, you'll be able to find Giovanni, which you can progress by completing the Special Research story.
Likewise, the Field Research tasks for the Crackling Voltage event will remain available for the Team GO Rocket Takeover event. Similarly, there will be a new batch of Field Research tasks for February 2023, which can also be completed during this Takeover event.
