The Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon, Dedenne, is returning to Pokémon GO as it will be featured alongside other Dragon and Fairy-type Pokémon in an upcoming event. The Twinkling Fantasy event will see the Antenna-looking Pokémon appear through various event activities, including Raids, wild encounters, and Field Research.
For months, Trainers have wanted a Shiny form to spawn in-game, but will the event grant this specific wish? We’ve detailed whether you can encounter a Shiny Dedenne during the Pokémon GO Twinkling Fantasy event.
Is There A Shiny Dedenne In Pokémon GO?
Trainers can encounter for the first time a Shiny Dedenne in Pokémon GO as it will debut in the Twinkling Fantasy event. The Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon will appear more frequently for the event’s duration between 10th January 2023 at 8 am local time and 16th January 2023 at 10 pm local time.
Since the launch of the Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon during the Festival of Lights event in November 2021, many have asked developer Niantic to release Dedenne’s Shiny form. While it could’ve been released during 2022’s Festival of Lights event, the developer has finally granted Trainers’ wishes by releasing Shiny Dedenne with the Twinkling Fantasy event.
How To Find A Shiny Dedenne in Pokémon GO?
Dedenne and its Shiny form won’t give you trouble finding it, as it will spawn in various event activities. Firstly, Dedenne and Shiny Dedenne will spawn more often in wild encounters alongside other Dragon and Fairy-type Pokémon.
To increase your chances of encountering Dedenne or Shiny Dedene, you can utilize Incense or Lure Modules, specifically the Magnetic Lure Module, due to Dedenne’s dual typing. Additionally, Dedenne or Shiny Dedenne will feature as a Raid Boss, with Druddigon and Mawile, in three-star Raids during the event.
Lastly, you can receive an encounter with Dedenne or Shiny Dedenne through the event-themed Field Research, which will be available at the start of the event. While details on which task specifically awards you this encounter, Trainers are guaranteed an encounter with Dedenne from the Field Research tasks.
After successfully encountering Dedenne, utilize Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, and standard Poké Balls to catch the Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon. Do note that catching Electric Pokémon is part of the month’s Field Research, which you need to catch five to receive an encounter with Flaafy.
Using five Berries to assist in catching Pokémon is another monthly Field research task, with the reward being an encounter with Bunnelby. Face off against Dedenne in the three-star Raids and defeat it is yet another monthly Field Research task with either a Kabuto or Omanyte encounter awaiting you.
Once you’ve fed Dedenne a delicious Berry or more, use any Throw to successfully catch the Pokémon, which, if you have yet to acquire it, will be recorded in your Pokédex. With Dedenne officially your Pokémon, however, it cannot be evolved as it’s the only member of its evolution.
