Trainers globally are interacting with each other and collectively encountering Pokémon in Raids, and wild encounters for the Pokémon GO December 2022 Community Day event. This event is the final Community Day event for 2022, as developer Niantic has revealed dates for subsequent events occurring in January and February 2023.
You can get involved with all the event activities, and encounter past featured Pokémon by doing Field Research tasks available to finish in-game. This guide lists all the Field Research tasks and the rewards you can claim during the December 2022 Community Day event in Pokémon GO.
All Pokémon GO December 2022 Community Day Field Research Tasks & Rewards
As promised, Niantic made a few Field Research tasks available to complete for the duration of the December 2022 Community Day event. This event, which is currently ongoing until 18th December 2022 at 5 pm local time, sees all featured Pokémon from the Community Day events in 2021 and 2022.
These Field Research tasks, like the Timed Research, are available to all Trainers globally for free on 17th December 2022 from 9 am local time. You'll need to spin the PokéStops during the Community Day event to receive a task before completing it and claiming its reward.
Let's look at the Field Research tasks and their corresponding rewards you can claim during the December 2022 Community Day event for Pokémon GO supplied by notable Pokémon source Leek Duck:
December Community Day Field Research (1/1):
- Catch three Pokémon:
- Sandshrew Encounter
- Alolan Sandshrew Encounter
- Geodude Encounter
- Hoppip Encounter
- Spheal Encounter
- Stufful Encounter
- Teddiursa Encounter
- Galarian Zigzagoon Encounter
- Starly Encounter
- Roggenrola Encounter
- Litwick Encounter
- Deino Encounter
It's important to note that the original Field Research task specified Community Day-featured Pokémon; however, according to Leek Duck, it also includes Pokémon that appear during the event. As mentioned above, this makes it easier for you to complete the task and be awarded encounters with the Pokémon, and all these encounters may come with a chance of Shiny forms of the listed Pokémon.
It also means that you can take advantage of the several event bonuses currently active for the event, except for a few available between 9 am and 9 pm local time*. We've listed below the event bonuses made available for the December 2022 Community Day event for Pokémon GO:
- Double XP for catching Pokémon
- Double Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Double Candy for catching Pokémon
- Hatch Distance will be halved when Eggs are placed inside Incubators
- Double the chance to earn Candy XL from catching Pokémon for Trainers Level 31 and higher
- Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will be activated for the event and be available for three hours
- An additional Special Trade will be allowed for a maximum of two for this specific day (*)
- 50% less Stardust is required when making Trades (*)
In a developer blog post, Niantic has outlined the next scheduled dates for upcoming Community Day events for early 2023. Trainers can look for details on the following date planned for 7th January 2023, and a Community Day Classic event that will occur on 21st January 2023 with featured Pokémon still yet to be announced.
